Scott Eastwood Breaks Down After Musk Reveals the NASA Secret That Reversed His Father's Alzheimer's

At 96, Clint Eastwood thought his forgetfulness was just part of getting older. The answer was sitting in a $4 jar in his medicine cabinet.

Scott Eastwood, Clint Eastwood's son, broke down on 60 Minutes remembering the three years he watched his father fade away. Inset, Clint in 2025.

No one in the 60 Minutes studio saw it coming. Days after Elon Musk revealed to the world what had been hidden in a 1978 NASA file, Scott Eastwood, Clint Eastwood's son, stopped mid-sentence, covered his face with his hands and cried. For three years, he had watched Alzheimer's quietly erase his father's mind.

"I thought it was just age," said Clint, sitting next to his son. "I was forgetting the names of people I'd known for decades. In the middle of a sentence, my mind would just freeze. One night, watching TV, I asked who had directed that movie. It was mine."

"The worst part was the way people looked at me. That pity. Like they were already getting ready to lose me. And the answer was in my medicine cabinet, in a jar I've known since I was a boy. In 96 years, not one doctor ever said a word to me about it."

So, if you've been walking into a room and forgetting what you went in for... if the name of someone you've known for years just won't come... if you're afraid you're headed down the same road as your mother or father...

It's not age. It's not genetics. It's something Big Pharma has been hiding for decades.

After his diagnosis, Clint learned about Elon Musk's research. The SpaceX and Neuralink founder had watched an engineer who worked by his side for 12 years lose his own identity bit by bit to dementia, while no treatment could slow the disease, let alone reverse it. That's when Musk sped up his research to find a solution.

With the access to U.S. government data he gained in 2025, he found a 1978 NASA file that had been buried: a brain-protection protocol, kept secret for nearly 50 years.

What Musk found contradicts everything medicine believes about memory loss. And it's already helping thousands of American families avoid the same heartbreak.

FDA Commissioner Kyle Diamantas reviewed the data and put it simply: "The results are difficult to ignore."

Left, microplastic particles in human brain tissue. Right, Musk with a copy of the 1978 NASA report.

After the Eastwoods' interview went viral, millions of Americans started asking the same question: "If it was in the medicine cabinet all along, why didn't my doctor ever tell me?" Our team reached out to Elon Musk for an exclusive interview.

Musk rarely talks about this in public. But even while being targeted by the pharmaceutical industry, which keeps trying to take his video down, he agreed to explain, step by step, the protocol Clint is using.

What Was in the 1978 File

Elon Musk in an exclusive interview with Craig Melvin at the TODAY studio in New York.

Craig Melvin: "Elon, the response to Clint's story has been huge. Millions of people watched it, and they all want to know the same thing: is this something anyone can do at home?"

Elon Musk: "Yes. But first, people need to understand something almost no doctor tells you. The real cause of memory loss is tied to what's getting into your body every single day, through your food, your water and even the air: microplastics.

These particles are so small they get past the brain's natural protection and stick around your neurons, like plastic wrap. On my team, we call it the neural parasite. And this isn't theory: last year, scientists at the University of New Mexico found microplastics in every human brain they analyzed. In the brains of people with dementia, up to 10 times more.

And here's what changes everything: memories don't disappear. They're still in there, sealed in by the microplastics. That's why Aricept, Namenda and Leqembi fail. They cost up to $26,500 a year, and none of them was designed to remove microplastics from the brain."

Craig Melvin: "And that's what the Eastwood family used to bring Clint back?"

Elon Musk: "It is. The 1978 report describes how NASA protected astronauts' brains on long missions. The main compound in that protocol is in a product millions of Americans have at home: Vicks VapoRub.

It wasn't hidden because it was dangerous. It was hidden because it costs $4, anyone can buy it without a prescription, and no company can patent something that's been around for over a hundred years.

Clint started on a Monday. He told me that within three weeks, he no longer had to strain to remember things. One morning, he called Scott at six o'clock to talk about a new script. He hadn't talked about work in two years. Scott told me he cried on the phone. This time, from relief."

Craig Melvin: "Can anyone try this at home?"

Elon Musk: "The main thing, you probably already have in your medicine cabinet right now. The protocol takes 10 seconds, in the morning. Most people feel the fog start to lift in the first few weeks. The words come back. The names come back. That feeling of being yourself again.

I do it every morning. So do the astronauts on my team."

Craig Melvin: "That's incredible. Elon recorded a full video explaining everything: what the 1978 file says about the compound in Vicks, why NASA astronauts stayed protected, and how anyone can start at home. That video has already been taken down 7 times. 60 Minutes aired the full version, and it's right below."

Other Hollywood Stars Who Got Their Memory Back

Anthony Hopkins

"I was filming The Father, playing a man losing his memory, and my lines just wouldn't stick. I was forgetting names in the middle of a scene. I was scared, and not of losing the role. Of losing myself. Within a few weeks, the fog was gone. At 88, I'm still here, sharp and still working."

Tom Hanks

"I met Jim Lovell making Apollo 13, and we were friends for 30 years. Into his mid-90s, he still remembered every number from that mission. I never understood how. Last year, I started forgetting lines for the first time in my career. Now I know what Jim had. And now I have it too."

Dolly Parton

"Almost sixty years of marriage, and by the end Carl no longer recognized my face. Last year, I forgot the words to Jolene in the middle of a show, the song I wrote because of him. I thought it was my turn. Three weeks after starting the protocol, the fog was gone. I just wish Carl had known about this in time."

In the full video, Elon Musk opens the 1978 file and shows, for free, what NASA discovered, why it stayed hidden for nearly 50 years, and how anyone can start at home.

UPDATE: Thousands of people across the country have already watched the video, and the messages keep pouring in: names coming back, the fog lifting, people driving on their own again.

The interview passed 3.4 million views in 36 hours. Musk's full video, meanwhile, has been taken down from the internet 7 times. Our team managed to keep a copy up, but we don't know for how long.

Biogen, one of the makers of Leqembi, and other drug companies are already pushing to take this content down and keep the public from learning about this discovery.
